About Us
This project is being implemented by Sa’idu Sulaiman. He is a retired Economics lecturer at Sa'adatu Rimi College of Education, Kano, and now the founder and Director of Penmark Academy for Lifelong Learning, Kano, Nigeria. (see more at https://www.penmarkacademy.com)
He is passionate about seeing people developing themselves and their professions through continuous or lifelong acquisition of knowledge and skills relevant to current needs and challenges. This is because learning does not stop after graduation from a school, college or university.
He discovered that the UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning, located in Hamburg, Germany, holds a global mandate for promoting lifelong learning with a focus on adult learning, continuing education, literacy and non-formal basic education. With this discovery, he established Penmark Academy to promote lifelong learning by supplementing what people learn in schools, polytechnics, colleges and universities.
Penmark Academy for Lifelong Learning began operation on Friday 5 February 2021 at its office located at Adamu House, behind Na’ibawa Motor Park, Kano. The office, which was furnished to accommodate thirty trainees at a time and powered by reliable, SUSTAINABLE solar energy, was commissioned by Dr. Abubakar Sabo Yusha’u of the Faculty of Education, Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, in his personal capacity as the Special Guest of Honour.
